Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is effective over a wide range of psychological problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. CBT is based on the core principle that psychological problems result, in part, from faulty or unhelpful ways of thinking. CBT provides better ways to understand and cope with problems and thereby relieve symptoms. CBT treatment involves learning to recognize one’s distortions in thinking that are creating problems and then reevaluating thought patterns in light of reality.

Trauma Focused Therapy

Trauma-Focused Therapy (TFT) recognizes how traumatic experiences impact a client’s mental, behavioral, emotional, and physical well-being. TFT provides clients skills and strategies to assist them in better understanding, coping with, and processing emotions and memories tied to traumatic experiences - with the end goal of enabling clients to create a healthier and more adaptive meaning of the traumatic experiences from their life.
